Guided visit to the « castle origins of the Royal Chapel domain of Dreux »
Built as early as the 12th century on an outcrop of rock overlooking the meanders of the Blaise river, the fortress of Dreux occupied a strategic point at the border between the Duchy of Normandy and the Royal domain. This site was also the stage for numerous conflicts between Richard the Lionheart and King Philippe-Auguste, and later on between King Henri IV and the League. The visitor thus discovers the remains of this fortress which in the 19th-century became the Saint-Louis Royal Chapel of Dreux where King Louis-Philippe and the members of his family rest in peace. A guided visit in French, lasting 1 hour 15 minutes, including the discovery with commentary on the remnants of the fortress and a free visit of the Royal Chapel with the use of the explanatory leaflet in French and English.
Admission fee: group of adults 11.50 €/person
Possibility to have a dining-room at your disposal for a packed meal: fixed price 7.2 €/person (meal not included).
